Christian Community and that is the topic of masturbation so the question that everyone wants to know is is masturbation a sin well if I can be honest the Bible doesn’t directly touch on the topic of masturbation but just because the Bible doesn’t necessarily speak about masturbation doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have something to say about it so based on some specific Clues within the Bible we are able to uncover and know exactly what God thinks about masturbation so as you grow within your walk with Christ God is going to continuously convict your heart and speak to you and tell you certain things about what you should be doing and what you should no longer be doing I think that as we evolve as Christians then our lives noticeably become different some things that we used to do in the world no longer sit right with us when we are Christ followers when the Holy Spirit lives within us so let’s talk about it it’s masturbation a sin let’s find out so as I mentioned before do I believe masturbation is a sin yes I do and one of the reasons why I believe that masturbation is a sin is because that it can become an idol so aside from the release of sexual tension a lot of people also masturbate because they are stressed they are anxious they are bored they or they just want to just feed their flesh and oftentimes the word masturbation it’s called masturbation for a reason because ultimately the more you continue to masturbate the more masturbation begins to master you and the Bible talks about that we should cast all of our anxieties on God on Jesus because he cares for us but when we are making masturbation at the Forefront of Our Lives we are using masturbation to relieve this tension or to relieve this stress or as an antidote for being bored or because you just want to feel good and there’s something dangerous about always constantly giving into your flesh Paul writes in First Corinthians chapter 6 verse 12 that all things are lawful for me but not all things are helpful all things are lawful but I will not be dominated by anything and for those of you who may be struggling with masturbation you have to ask yourself is masturbation mastering me am I constantly being dominated by this feeling to constantly masturbate and if so that means that it has become your idol that means that instead of giving this desire to God that you take it upon yourself and feed into that sexual sin whether it’s the fact that you want to go to bed you know a lot of people masturbate because they say that it helps them go to sleep well the Bible says that God gives his beloved sleep it’s not masturbation that can help you get to sleep in Scott a lot of people also say well masturbation helps me to relieve tension or stress while God says cast all your anxieties on me because I care for you even when it comes to lust if you are a Christian that is single and not married we should not constantly be giving into the spirit of lust and if I can be honest as a Christian woman who’s been single for three years now the enemy has tempted me a lot with masturbation that has been the biggest Temptation that I have experienced and if I can be honest this is a Temptation that I have to deal with every single day but I’ve learned to master the art of not masturbating rather than having masturbation Master me because I know that I desire to please God in everything that I do both privately and publicly and God has convicted my heart and if I can be honest there have been times where I have given in to the temptation of masturbation and every single time it always left me feeling guilty and convicted and I followed that conviction and I decided that I’m not going to do that it got places places on my heart and tells me hey I don’t want you doing this then I’m going to honor what God tells me to do if I can be honest there’s something very dangerous about constantly feeding less because ultimately lust can never be satisfied so if you are constantly feeling guilty or convicted after masturbation I can almost guarantee you that this is God speaking to you telling you that he does not want you doing this God wants us to live a life that is pleasing and holy and it’s not to say that sex is bad or that God does not desire for us to have sex but God desires for us to have sex within the fines of marriage God does not want us to go into a place of lust in order to feed our sexual desires we are supposed to be able to fulfill our sexual desires in a way that’s holy and pleasing and acceptable to God so I would encourage you that if you are feeling convicted about whether or not you should be masturbating then you should definitely follow those convictions masturbation can definitely be seen as an idol if you place it before God so I encourage you if you’re using masturbation to help you go to sleep or because you’re bored or stressed or anxious give it all to God because God can ultimately fulfill those desires for you number two masturbation perverts your mind and not only that it can also open the door for the enemy to get in why do I say that because it’s impossible to masturbate with your heart being pure the Bible tells us in Matthew chapter 5 verse 8 that blessed are the pure of heart for they will see God meaning when your thoughts are are pure you are in God’s presence but the moment that you have to masturbate you take your mind from a pure place to a place of lust and honestly a lot of the times when people masturbate they are either watching porn or if you don’t watch porn you are Conjuring up thoughts that are not of God to get yourself to a place where you can masturbate so that’s one of the reasons why I believe that masturbation is a sin and that it’s wrong is because you’re taking your eyes off God and you’re moving your mind to a place of lust and sexual perversion in order to please yourself and to reach a climax so David writes in Psalm Chapter 19 Verse 14 that may the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing To You O Lord my rock and my redeemer and let’s be honest when you are masturbating the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart are definitely not pleasing to God the Bible also tells us in Philippians chapter 4 verse 8 that whatever is true that whatever is Noble whatever is right whatever is pure whatever ever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things so when you’re masturbating you’re not living by that scripture you’re not thinking of things that are true right lovely Noble admirable excellent you’re thinking of things that are less full you’re most likely watching porn or Conjuring up thoughts that are not pleasing to God so this is why also that I think masturbation can be wrong all right number three the reason why I believe that masturbation is wrong in that it is a sin is because it is addictive the Bible says that the fruit of the spirit is self-control and when we are masturbating that essentially means that there is no self-control we are constantly feeding into our own lustful desires so Paul encourages Us in first Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 2 through 5 that we should control our bodies with Holiness and honor not within a passion of lust like the Gentiles do who do not know God based on this scripture Paul is writing that though those who do not know God they are constantly acting within their passion of lust that they are constantly dominated by their passion of lust rather than an act of Holiness and honor and self-control so again it’s not to say that sex is bad or you’re wrong for having your own sexual desires but God desires for us to have a spirit of self-control God desires for us to honor our bodies because they are the temple where his holy spirit lives within us sex is not wrong and feeding your sexual desires is not wrong but it but we need to make sure that it’s within the confines of marriage all right another reason why I believe that masturbation is a sin is because God does not offer masturbation as an alternative to your sexual desires so in First Corinthians chapter 7 verse 8 through 9 Paul mentions that when you are burning with lust with sexual desire he said it’s better for you to get married than to burn learn with passion so this is specifically interesting because masturbation is not an alternative if masturbation was seen as something that was acceptable the scriptures would have said hey if you’re burning with lust it’s better to just masturbate than to burn with passion no the scriptures say that it is better to get married than to burn with passion or sexual Temptation and one of the reasons why masturbation is not seen as an alternative is because when we are constantly masturbating and giving into our own sexual desires it delays Kingdom marriages God desires for us to have Kingdom marriages and Kingdom Partnerships and when we are constantly just feeding our own sexual desires and not pursuing marriage then ultimately that causes us to delay Kingdom marriage It ultimately delays us from connecting and marrying our kingdom spouse if people sit around and watch porn all day and masturbate then there’s really no sense of urgency to find your wife or to find your husband because you think well I can do this on my own if I have any sexual tension I can release it on my own I don’t need a man I don’t need a woman and that’s not God’s design God tells us it’s not good for man to be alone and from that point specifically we can see and know and understand that according to God masturbation is most likely a sin all right so you’re probably like well Johanna okay great you told me that masturbation is a sin it’s wrong how do I get delivered from this well number one the best way to get deliberate from masturbation is to get into God’s presence as I mentioned before it is nearly impossible to masturbate while you are in God’s presence try masturbating with worship music on I promise you it most likely will not work get into God’s presence through prayer and ask for deliverance seek God and ask him to help you to deliver you from masturbation and if I can be quite honest the desire to masturbate never really goes away you just have to master the ability to overcome masturbation as a Christian woman who has been single and abstinate for three years I’d be lying if I said that I don’t battle the the desire to masturbate every day I’m constantly trying to overcome the desire to masturbate there be some days where I’m tempted to feed into my sexual desires and there are some days where I just sit there and cry like Yo God this sucks like literally tears coming out of my eyes because I know that this desire is so strong but I can’t feed it so one of the best things I can tell you is give it time give it to God God is your strength God is your strong Tower God is your Refuge just continue to pray and fast it away you are victorious you are a child of God that’s Victorious and you can definitely overcome the spirit of masturbation and again it’s not to say that this temptation will never go away but you will have to learn how to master the art of overcoming masturbation rather than allowing masturbation to master you and lastly one of the best ways to overcome masturbation is to resist it James chapter 4 verse 7 says submit yourselves then to God resist the devil and he will flee from you all you have to do is resist and the Bible literally says the devil will flee from you all right so this is something that does not happen overnight this is going to take um time in order to overcome it but you will be victorious in the end God is with you he will never leave you nor forsake you and also continue to pray for your spouse if you are single pray to God that he will send you your kingdom spouse so you won’t have to constantly give in to the spirit of masturbation and if you are married um give it to God confess it to your spouse and that’s one of the ways in which you’re able to be set free as well so I know it’s a lot to cover I’ll most likely do a part two to this video because I didn’t really go go into the ways in which you’re able to overcome masturbation I didn’t really talk about masturbation for married couples either so I’ll definitely give a part two of this but let me know your struggles with 0 that I don&;t battle the the desire to
0 masturbate every day I&;m constantly
0 trying to overcome the desire to
0 masturbate there be some days where I&;m
0 tempted to feed into my sexual desires
0 and there are some days where I just sit
0 there and cry like Yo God this sucks
0 like literally tears coming out of my
0 eyes because I know that this desire is
0 so strong but I can&;t feed it so one of
0 the best things I can tell you is give
0 it time give it to God God is your
0 strength God is your strong Tower God is
0 your Refuge just continue to pray and
0 fast it away you are victorious you are
0 a child of God that&;s Victorious and you
0 can definitely overcome the spirit of
0 masturbation and again it&;s not to say
0 that this temptation will never go away
0 but you will have to learn how to master
0 the art of overcoming masturbation
0 rather than allowing masturbation to
0 master you and lastly one of the best
0 ways to overcome masturbation is to
0 resist it James chapter 4 verse 7 says
0 submit yourselves then to God resist the
0 devil and he will flee from you
0 all you have to do is resist and the
0 Bible literally says the devil will flee
0 from you all right so this is something
0 that does not happen overnight this is
0 going to take
0 um time in order to overcome it but you
0 will be victorious in the end God is
0 with you he will never leave you nor
0 forsake you and also
0 continue to pray for your spouse if you
0 are single pray to God that he will send
0 you your kingdom spouse so you won&;t
0 have to constantly give in to the spirit
0 of masturbation and if you are married
0 um give it to God confess it to your
0 spouse and that&;s one of the ways in
0 which you&;re able to be set free as well
0 so I know it&;s a lot to cover I&;ll most
