Retranscription des paroles de la vidéo: so the next question that came in is one that is one of two today that is not specifically mentioned in scripture and this is around the idea of self-pleasure self-gratification or in our culture we use the word masturbation and I know that is an uncomfortable topic to talk about in church trust me I’m as uncomfortable as all of you um right now in this moment but it’s an important one because what happens is put usually this act that’s done in private the enemy can come in and get a foothold and I wanted to be the one to talk about it because culturally we think this is a man’s issue but I have met with so many women that are struggling in this area and we talk when we talk about things not being so black and white you know I want you to consider like I was saying those hours of counseling sessions and be able to with compassion think about the woman or man who’s been in a season of singleness for a long time trying to figure out what to do with these desires of their flesh or the man and man or woman who’s been married 30 or 40 years and their spouse passes away and then they’re left with what to do with their own desires you know I talked to a nurse this week who told me that this it this act is prescribed often times by doctors or nurses for physical therapy or Rejuvenation of cells and so when we talk about this instance it’s like the other ones that we have the holy spirit inside of us and you need to know that you’re not alone that if you’ve been struggling in this area if you felt like you were struggling in silence that you’re not alone and that the holy spirit will help bring you to a place of freedom and that this is a safe place this is a safe church for you to be able to come and seek that freedom and actually get some answers and bring it before scripture you know a couple of verses for you is Ephesians 5:3 it says but among you there must not even be a hint of sexual immorality or any kind of impurity and so many of you know if you’ve lived long enough you have an act of imagination when you go to do this you cannot reconcile that any hint of impurity and that’s an area that God wants you to know he’s with you and he is for you 1 Corinthians 10:31 says whether then you eat or drink or whatever you do do it all for the glory of God and so this morning just like with all these instances of what does the Bible say about my body what does the Bible say about this area specifically we want you to know that Jesus is with you he loves you you don’t need to feel any shame but that you have people that will come and help fight for you for places of freedom and abund life and the reality being of all the different lists of different types of sexual immorality mentioned in scripture God had all the ability to use this word but it’s never actually used in the Bible and so the question there then is what do we make of it as the people of God that are called to be set apart and holy we can’t say given the nuances of all of the differences in our lives and and seasons of life that there’s a zero tolerance policy here but we also can’t say that you’re fully free to do it and so this has has to be a place that you bring it before the Lord he knows the thoughts of your mind the feelings and your heart come to an agreement and a place of personal conviction so that you can make a decision in faith .
